The Hope Group LLC Anchors
Parker's Presence in New England

The Hope Group is a privately-held company founded in 1933 by the Rhoten family of Massachusetts. Originally established to provide industrial rubber products for consumers and industry, the company expanded into fluid power products in 1960 through its affiliation as an authorized distributor for Parker Hannifin.

More recently the company established itself as a source for motion and control system solutions, incorporating its core competencies in hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid connectors, automation, filtration, electrical & electronic control systems, sealing solutions, and compressed air packages. As a full-line distributor for Parker, it has earned the designation as a Technology Center for Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Mobile components and systems.

The Hope Group operates six ParkerStores in four of the New England states. The company is headquartered in Northborough, MA, where it operates from a 60,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution center. With over $45 million in annual sales, 120 employees, and access to over $100 million in motion control inventory through its affiliation with DistraNet, the company is well positioned to build on its strength as a leading independent motion and control product and systems solutions provider.

Why "The Hope Group" Name?

Although the company was incorporated as the Fitchburg Rubber Company in 1933, the original company had actually started prior to the turn of the century in Providence, RI, which was known as the City of Hope. The name Hope Rubber Company was adopted after World War II and has carried forward ever since, including its most recent name change to The Hope Group. The Hope Group has grown successfully over the past few decades through a combination of market penetration and acquisition of regionally significant companies. The Hope Group operates The Leen Company, Bosworth Fluid Connectors and Webster Engineering as part of its group.

Corporate headquarters moved to Northborough, MA, in 1985, where it built a modern, 60,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution center to support its operations throughout New England. Together, with its other five locations, The Hope Group has over 100,000 square feet of warehousing, fabrication and administration facilities to complement its manufacturing capacity.

What We Do at The Hope Group

Our website, literature and promotional material always state that we distribute hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems, providing motion control solutions for everything that moves. It's not easy describing everything that The Hope Group can provide for its wide range of customers. As a Parker distributor we have access to the latest technologies in hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, hose & fittings, seals, and instrumentation. In addition, we represent a number of leading manufacturers in other product areas, including GE, Cutler-Hammer, T-Slots, Balluff, Enerpac, and many others. Combined, these sources permit The Hope Group to provide OEM and MRO customers with components, sub-systems, and complete packaged system solutions across many industries.

Today, the company focuses its 20 outside sales engineers on identifying and solving the manufacturing challenges of OEM companies serving the Life Science, Defense, Power Generation, Mobile, Marine, Semiconductor, Transportation, Food & Beverage and Pulp & Paper markets. Through the application of Engineered System Solutions, designed and fabricated by its in-house engineering and ISO 9001:2008 Certified manufacturing facility, The Hope Group has become a premiere motion and control system provider for the New England region and worldwide for certain applications.

Our Parker Partnership
Goes Back Over 50 Years

For over 50 years, The Hope Group has been associated with Parker Hannifin, the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems. The new Parker Distributor logo was introduced recently and was designed to strengthen the relationship between the parent company and the authorized distributorships. Fully 80 percent of the domestic revenue for Parker flows through its Distributor network. As a $10 billion publicly-held corporation, residing as the 230th largest corporation on the New York Stock Exchange, Parker has an expectation that its Distributors would be proud of the association.

Our Triangle Logo Design
Represented 3 Companies

The corporate logo was developed in conjunction with a name change and the relocation to Central Massachusetts about 25 years ago. The triangle design reflected on the three divisions operating at the time, which included The Hope Group, Hope Air Systems and Sorensen Governor. Today, the Hope Air and Sorensen divisions are independent companies, having formed their own LLC’s, and all three companies are subsidiaries of THG Corporation. The logo continues to reflect the wide range of products, systems and engineered solutions provided by The Hope Group.
