Over 1,000 visitors expected to visit THG Corporation
During 75th Anniversary Open House and Trade Show
Northborough, MA (6-24-2008) – Over 1,000 visitors are expected to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of THG Corporation and its subsidiary companies, The Hope Group, Hope Air Systems, and Sorensen Systems, during a two-day Open House and Trade Show at its headquarters here on October 8 & 9, 2008. A similar celebration will be held a week earlier at its subsidiary company, The Leen Company, in Portland, ME.
Tour of THG Corporation facility
Tony Cantone, President of The Hope Group LLC, said, “To help each guest enjoy their visit, a guided tour will be made through our 60,000 square foot office and manufacturing facility.” Cantone said, “The Hope Group entered its most exciting growth period of its 75 years in business when it moved into this facility 20 years ago. During that period, the company has expanded significantly through organic growth of the business as well as through some strategic acquisitions that broadened our geographic and product base throughout New England and beyond,” he added.
The celebration is highlighted by a “tour”, a “show” and a series of “seminars” that make the event fun and informative. Fritz Zuegg, credit manager for The Hope Group, and tour guide coordinator for the event, said, “The tour begins in our administrative and sales area on the top floor of the company. Executive offices, credit department, accounting, customer service, sales and marketing make up the general office area. Upon entering the warehouse and fabrication area, the true picture of The Hope Group emerges. Here you will see an active engineering department, electrical panel shop, hydraulic fabrication, testing and painting area, plus an expansive inventory warehouse and a service support area,” said Zuegg.
A combination of THG Corporation employees and outside experts from Parker, Kaeser and other suppliers will make live demonstrations and presentations at selected “guest visit” areas throughout the facility. A tour “guide” will accompany small groups of visitors on their brief but thorough visit to The Hope Group headquarters. After the “tour” the visitors will be escorted to the seminar they have pre-registered for or on to the “big-top”, an exhibition tent outside the facility.
Trade Show features Parker Hannifin
After the Tour, the real fun begins at the two-day Trade Show. Inside a 5,000 square foot exhibition tent, the visitor will find over a dozen full-scale tradeshow exhibits ranging from Parker IQAN electronic control systems to Parker industrial hose crimpers and Kaeser rotary screw air compressors. Among the displays will be hydraulic hose & fittings, mobile hydraulics, o-rings and sealing solutions, electrical automation, pneumatics, air compressors, nitrogen generators and supply chain management by iPower Distribution Group of New England.
Here the visitor can linger over any product area where there will be time to ask questions and seek solutions from trained experts. The tent is reserved for full-scale exhibit backdrop presentations, with live demonstrations, inter-active displays and a well-stocked hospitality area for refreshments throughout the day. Lunch will be served for everyone attending the tour, show and seminars.
Technical Seminars offered to Open House visitors
According to Tony Cantone, the series of technical seminars may be the most exciting aspect of the entire 75th Anniversary event. Similar to highly successful workshops and seminars conducted at its on-site training facility and at off-site events over the past few years, these technical seminars will provide hands-on opportunities for technicians, product managers, engineers, maintenance personnel and others to learn about the latest technologies and techniques.
“This is not just a chance to pass out brochures,” said Cantone. “At the seminars each attendee will receive intensive instruction, from highly qualified experts, on hydraulic plumbing, electronic control systems, proper selection and sizing of sealing solutions, the latest in pneumatic technology, mobile hydraulics and much more,” he added.
