THG Corporation Plans Open House
To Celebrate 75th Anniversary

Northborough, MA (02-27-2008) Carey Rhoten, CEO of THG Corporation, today announced that in recognition of the company's 75th Anniversary, it would be holding a two-day Open House and Trade Show at its headquarters, 70 Bearfoot Road, Northborough MA, on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 and Thursday, October 9, 2008. The event will feature a guided tour for visitors through the 60,000 square foot warehouse and fabrication facility, with presentations from experts on hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, hose & fittings, air compressors, o-rings, fluid controls, vendor managed inventory control, instrumentation and engineered motion and control systems.

"My brother Peter and I are excited about this unique opportunity to honor the memory of our parents, Doc and Elizabeth, who founded the company in 1933, little suspecting that we would become one of the leading independent industrial distributors and value-added manufacturers for industry in New England," said Carey Rhoten. "The 75th Anniversary is a significant milestone for the family and for the 120 employees that serve our customers from Maine to Rhode Island," he added.

According to Tony Cantone, President of The Hope Group LLC, one of the subsidiaries of THG Corporation, there will be a series of educational workshops and seminars conducted by experts from Parker Hannifin, Kaeser Compressor and other manufacturers that are represented by The Hope Group. There will be a full-blown trade show exhibit with over a dozen booths demonstrating the latest in technology from various manufacturers. The seminars will require pre-registration due to expected high demand. Previous workshops at The Hope Group have filled up rapidly, according to Tony Cantone. Also, there will be food and entertainment to create an enjoyable atmosphere during the event.

Among the most interesting exhibits will be the traveling Parker "Tech Tour" truck. In previous visits to The Leen Company, a THG Corporation subsidiary in Portland, Maine, the truck created a lot of excitement for visitors to its exhibits. The Parker truck brings innovative industrial products, hands-on demonstrations, interactive displays and training classes directly to customer locations and the Parker Store locations operated by THG Corporation.

The Parker truck vehicle consists of a 79 foot trailer and tractor with a combined weight of 78,000 pounds. The trailer is on the road throughout the year across the country and Canada, according to Phil Lund, VP of The Hope Group. He pointed out that the topics covered by the exhibit include hydraulic maintenance, dry technology plumbing, tube fabrication, cartridge valve technology and the proper sizing of pneumatic systems. Also, as part of its "Innovation in Motion" concept, Parker has included a motion simulator on-board the trailer. It has a seating capacity for six people (riders) and is always a hit for visitors as they experience Parker's total system solution by riding in the motion simulator from Doron Precision Systems, Inc.

The Hope Group is a leading independent industrial distributor in New England, with main headquarters in Northborough, MA. It is a subsidiary of THG Corporation and has locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It features motion and control products and systems from Parker, Kaeser Compressor, GE Fanuc, Cutler-Hammer and other industrial manufacturers. Its principal product lines include hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, hose & fittings, fluid connector, fluid power, seals & o-rings, instrumentation and vendor managed inventory systems.

The Hope Group operates five ParkerStores, one each in Bangor ME, Portland ME, Manchester NH, Fitchburg MA and Cranston RI. More information about the company may be found on its website: www.TheHopeGroup.com. Founded in 1933, the company is celebrating its 75th Anniversary during 2008.

Our Parker Partnership
Goes Back Over 50 Years

For over 50 years, The Hope Group has been associated with Parker Hannifin, the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems. The new Parker Distributor logo was introduced recently and was designed to strengthen the relationship between the parent company and the authorized distributorships. Fully 80 percent of the domestic revenue for Parker flows through its Distributor network. As a $10 billion publicly-held corporation, residing as the 230th largest corporation on the New York Stock Exchange, Parker has an expectation that its Distributors would be proud of the association.

Our Triangle Logo Design
Represented 3 Companies

The corporate logo was developed in conjunction with a name change and the relocation to Central Massachusetts about 25 years ago. The triangle design reflected on the three divisions operating at the time, which included The Hope Group, Hope Air Systems and Sorensen Governor. Today, the Hope Air and Sorensen divisions are independent companies, having formed their own LLC’s, and all three companies are subsidiaries of THG Corporation. The logo continues to reflect the wide range of products, systems and engineered solutions provided by The Hope Group.
