The Hope Group Has Earned
ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Northborough, MA (06-08-2009) THG Corporation has successfully had its registrations upgraded from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008. According to Joe DeMarco, Director of Quality, this means that The Hope Group has implemented a quality management system registered by the Quality Certification Bureau for distribution of fluid power components and industrial supplies.

The ISO (International Organization of Standardization) had implemented a deadline for organizations such as The Hope Group to transition to the new upgraded standards of the ISO 9001:2008 designation. The Hope Group received its certificate from SAI Global congratulating them on having its registration upgraded as required.

The ISO 9000 designation is generally described as an established Quality Management System standard which can be customized into a powerful improvement tool.

ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS) for any organization that needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements and aims to enhance customer satisfaction.

To implement an ISO 9000 QMS it must: 1) Define its quality oriented policies and objectives, 2) Control its processes, 3) Measure performance, 4) Use the information obtained to make improvement, 5) Keep a record of all pertinent upgrades and improvements.

Increasingly, throughout the industrial world, the ISO 9001 process is used to increase confidence in the products and services provided by certified organizations, between partners in business-to-business relations, in the selection of suppliers in supply chains and in the right to tender for procurement contracts.

The new Parker Distributor logo was introduced recently and was designed to strengthen the relationship between the parent company and the authorized distributorships. Fully 80 percent of the domestic revenue for Parker flows through its Distributor network. As a $10 billion publicly-held corporation, residing as the 230th largest corporation on the New York Stock Exchange, Parker has an expectation that its Distributors would be proud of the association.

The corporate logo was developed in conjunction with a name change and the relocation to Central Massachusetts about 25 years ago. The triangle design reflected on the three divisions operating at the time, which included The Hope Group, Hope Air Systems and Sorensen Governor. Today, the Hope Air and Sorensen divisions are independent companies, having formed their own LLC’s, and all three companies are subsidiaries of THG Corporation. The logo continues to reflect the wide range of products, systems and engineered solutions provided by The Hope Group.
