160 Customers Attend Workshops
Sponsored by The Hope Group
Northboro, MA (3-2-06) Tony Cantone, President of The Hope Group, today announced that over 160 customers attended three all-day hydraulic plumbing workshops at its Portland ME, Northboro MA and Cranston RI locations. The “hands-on” training classes were conducted by manufacturer’s representatives from Parker Hannifin on a range of topics including:
- Hydraulic Hose Plumbing
- Metric Fitting Identification
- Dry Technology
- Hydraulic Tube Bending
In addition to the four training sessions, the participants were able to explore a wide range of industrial products at a mini-tradeshow that was held at the same time. Some of the displays included:
Participants in the training sessions represented a wide range of The Hope Group’s customers including boat builders, golf course operators, paper mills, utility companies, trucking operators, public works departments, equipment manufacturers, injection molders, and many more involved in mobile hydraulic industries.
According to Tony Cantone, there were about 60 attendees at the Portland ME event, about 60 at the Northboro MA location and about 40 at the Cranston RI training session. “This represents one of our more popular workshop-seminar programs in the past year,” said Cantone. “We typically have between 30 and 40 at these training programs, and we only run one or two at a time. This time we had three days and broke attendance records at each site,” he added.
“Designers, assemblers, maintenance personnel, engineers and technicians depend on us to bring them the latest mobile hydraulic products and systems, and more importantly, the support to make the best use and application of these products,” said Cantone. “These training sessions put our customers into a situation where they get hands-on, practical demonstrations and a chance to ask the experts how to apply the knowledge to their own requirements,” he added.
The workshops provided participants with instruction on how to select, assemble and route the proper hydraulic hose and fitting combination for maximum safety, service life and with zero leakage. They learned how to identify the port and tube end of any metric tube fitting or adapter using simple gauges and calipers and how to select the right metric fittings. They also learned how to select, assemble and install hydraulic tubing, tube fittings and adapters with a focus on achieving optimum plumbing design. Finally, the participants learned from factory experts how to accurately bend hydraulic tubing for optimum efficiency, leak proofing and aesthetics, according to Tony Cantone.
“We have been providing direct customer training in our facilities for many years,” said Cantone. “It’s become more important with each passing year that we do this for our customers so that they can take full advantage of the improvements that technology brings to the marketplace,” he added.
