The Leen Company Hosts
Parker Tech Tour Truck
Portland, ME - (9-24-2007) Phil Lund, vice-president of The Hope Group, today announced that a record number of Leen Company customers were expected to attend the four-day “Parker Tech Tour” in Bangor and Portland, ME between Monday, September 24 and Thursday, September 27, 2007. The “Parker Tech Tour” was scheduled to visit four paper mills and to attract hundreds of employees from the maintenance, production and procurement departments of the mills.
“The Parker Tech Tour brings innovative products, hands-on demonstrations, inter-active displays and training classes directly to the mill sites, where our customers can benefit most from the fluid connector and hydraulic information they need to do their jobs,” said Phil Lund. The truck will visit Domtar mill in Baileyville, Lincoln mill in Lincoln, Sappi Fine Paper mill in Skowhegan, and NewPage mill in Rumford Mill, ME.
The paper mills are important customers for The Leen Company, which is a member of The Hope Group, one of New England’s largest independent industrial distributors, according to Lund. “It’s been our experience that mill management appreciates that the latest technologies are brought directly to the plant, keeping their production team informed about new applications, without having to send them off-site to trade shows and training,” said Lund.
Expert sales engineers from The Leen Company join with representatives from Parker to provide training, host demonstrations and to handle on the spot problem solving. Among the sales team members on hand this week were Ron Highbarger and Dave Paradis from Bangor, and Terry TC Clancy and Chris Balentine from the Portland office. Other sales personnel from The Leen Company include Ron Ruel and Neil Berry.
The Parker Tech Tour vehicle consists of a 79 foot trailer and tractor with a combined weight of 78,000 pounds. The trailer is on the road throughout the year across the country and in Canada. This is not the first visit to the Leen Company customers, but it is the first to include four locations in one week.
Among the various training classes the topics covered include hydraulic maintenance, dry technology plumbing, tube fabrication, cartridge valve technology and the proper sizing of pneumatic systems. Also, as part of its “Innovation in Motion” concept, Parker has included a motion simulator on-board the trailer. It has a seating capacity for six people and is sure to be a hit for visitors as they experience Parker’s total system solution by riding in the motion simulator from Doron Precision Systems, Inc.
