The Hope Group Website
Receives Design Award
Northboro, MA (1-10-2006) The Hope Group today was awarded The Silver Award by the World Wide Web Awards competition for its website: www.thehopegroup.com, in recognition of its outstanding website design and content, according to Richard Wright, Marketing Manager. The Silver Award represents “outstanding website design, interesting content and is user friendly with easy navigation,” according to the award criteria.
An important criterion in winning the Silver Award was a “site that is error free from broken links and error messages of any kind”. According to Sarah Brunelle, Marketing Specialist and Webmaster, the site scored between 80 and 89 points in the judging. This was characterized by the award judges, as not easy to do. “We have tried to build a website that is easy to navigate and brings our customers to the information they need as quickly as possible,” said Brunelle.
The website was also recognized for being “well organized and uses some advanced features, such as flash or java scripting,” according to the award judges. The Silver Award recognizes that at least 80 percent of the site is of original design and graphics, as well as provides quality information for its visitors.
While The Hope Group has had a website for many years, it undertook to redesign and improve the content of the site about 18 months ago, according to Richard Wright. “We committed ourselves to a completely new design with the intention of making it more user friendly, with enhanced features, including “customer login” capability as well as a mechanism to link with our associated companies, Hope Air Systems and Sorensen Systems,” said Wright. “This award recognizes that we have made progress in building a more usable and useful website for our customers,” he added.
The Hope Group markets its industrial products through The Hope Group,
Hope Air Systems and Sorensen Systems companies. It also operates The Leen Company of Maine and Bosworth Fluid Connectors in Rhode Island as member companies of The Hope Group. It operates a total of five ParkerStores, in Bangor ME, Portland ME, Manchester NH, Fitchburg MA and Cranston RI.
