Food/Beverage
For food and beverage producers, it is important to maintain freshness, taste and consistency to remain competitive. When processing foods, oxygen allows the growth of bacteria which results in premature spoilage. For some dairy products, such as cheese, sour cream and milk, it’s desirable to blanket the product with nitrogen to control molds and thus reduce spoilage. For other products, such as potato chips, it’s desirable to sprits some nitrogen into the package to keep the chips crisp. The displacement of oxygen in sealed packages improves shelf life and prevents the growth of bacteria. Typical food and beverage nitrogen purity levels range from 97 to 99.7 percent, depending on the application.

Electronics/Laser Cutting
Nitrogen Generators provide a method to control environment metal oxidation for electrical assembly and can serve as a shielding gas for applications such as laser cutting. Purity levels become critical determinants for these processes. Typically, nitrogen purity for dry box applications is 99.5 percent. For stainless steel cutting, purity level requirements may be as high as 99.9 percent.
