From its roots in Hope, RI before the turn of the century, to the creation of the Hope Rubber Company by the Rhoten family in Fitchburg, MA in 1933, the most recent turn of events was the creation of THG Corporation as the parent to The Hope Group LLC, Hope Air Systems LLC and Sorensen Systems LLC; three separate companies linked together by a century of progress and growth.

Since 1933, The Hope Group has survived and prospered as a distributor and fabricator of industrial rubber, fluid power and fluid connector products for the various prominent industries and commercial enterprises in the New England region. Through growth, both by increased sales and selected acquisitions of related companies, THG Corporation has expanded its range of products and services to include all six New England states and worldwide for selected products. The Hope Group is represented in Maine by The Leen Company and in Rhode Island by Bosworth Fluid Connectors.

The Hope Group
The largest and oldest company of the THG Corporation is The Hope Group. As a leading independent industrial distributor, The Hope Group is proud to be affiliated with Parker Hannifin as a full-line distributor. The Parker products carried by The Hope Group include hydraulics (including marine, mobile and industrial), pneumatics (including automation), fluid connectors, fluid controls, instrumentation, o-rings, gaskets and seals. The Hope Group is a leading designer and manufacturer of motion control solutions, which are fabricated at its ISO 9001:2000 certified facility in Northborough, Massachusetts.

Hope Air Systems
During the 1960’s, The Hope Group added stationary air compressors and accessories to its lineup of industrial products. Hope Air Systems was designated as the division to carry air compressors, dryers, blowers and other compressed air system products to the New England marketplace. In addition, Hope Air Systems began to establish itself as a designer/fabricator of skid-mounted PET air compressor systems for the bottle blow molding industry on a worldwide basis. Over the past 25 years, Hope Air Systems has successfully installed over 300 PET bottle blowing air compressor systems from Africa, to Asia to North and South America.

Sorensen Systems
Established originally through the acquisition of the Sorensen Governor brand, Sorensen Systems continues as a leading provider for new installations, refurbishment projects and station automation for the hydroelectric, power generation, water and waste-water industries. Beyond that, Sorensen Systems has expanded to include process control solutions providing turnkey process equipment, facility planning, installation, testing, verification, certification and maintenance of process control systems. Sorensen Systems has aggressively entered the on-site PSA nitrogen generator market with its lineup of custom-manufactured machines offering nitrogen purity levels up to 99.995 percent.

The Leen Company
Representing The Hope Group in Maine, The Leen Company is a well recognized and trusted industrial supplier with principal locations in Bangor ME and Portland ME. Supported by two ParkerStores at these locations, The Leen Company presents a full lineup of fluid power products including hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, automation, fluid connectors, o-rings and seals for a wide range of MRO and OEM applications. Serving every kind of commercial and industrial customer from pulp and paper to mobile/marine, The Leen Company has the inventory, expertise and experience to meet anyone’s requirements.

Bosworth Fluid Connectors
In Rhode Island, The Hope Group is represented by Bosworth Fluid Connectors and its ParkerStore in Cranston RI. Bosworth Fluid Connectors offers Parker hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid connector, o-rings and seals products to the OEM and MRO market. The ParkerStore provides hands-on access to a broad display of hydraulic and industrial hose, hose fittings and adapters, plus tubing and tube fittings. The Cranston RI ParkerStore features a wide range of products to support industrial, mobile and marine customers including, boat builders, boat yards and marinas with products such as Racor diesel and gasoline spin-on filters.
